My Review:
After reading this book, I have decided that I would love to move to Rebel, Oklahoma. Author Tina Radcliffe has created a community that’s warm, loving, and goes to great lengths to support their own. Things are not perfect in Rebel, but it’s close enough. The “hometown” vibe is felt on every page of the book. The author has done an excellent job helping us get to know the citizens of this small town.
This book focuses on Mitch and Daisy and their efforts to overcome tragic circumstances. Daisy is now the guardian and caretaker of her five orphaned nieces and nephews. Although she has her grandmother to help take care of the children, life is challenging for Rebel’s newest police officer. Mitch, the police chief, had faced a similar situation with his young siblings. I liked both of these characters. Both face their circumstances by the strength from their faith in God; but both have fear and control issues. This story was a good reminder to me to turn to God at all times and let Him lead.
Since this is the first book in this series, it’s great to know that we’ll have another chance to revisit these characters and the town of Rebel.
I received a copy of this book from the author. All opinions are my own.
