My Review:
I have read many of this author’s books and always find her stories to be entertaining to read. Her use of historical details about the year 1879 made a great setting for this intriguing story. As much as I enjoyed the story, I never did quite warm up to Nancy, the main character. I appreciated the way she changed after her conversation to Christ, but she never really showed much warmth towards others all throughout the story.
I did very much like the other characters especially Seth, Clementine, and the ladies at the boarding house. Seth was a stable influence in Nancy’s life and had a secret that added interest to the story. The maiden sisters were quirky and made me smile. I’ll be interested to read the next book in this series to see what happens next with those characters.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
