My Review:
Naomi Ropp has experienced much heartache in her life, including betrayal in her teenage years and then later by her husband. After the death of her husband, she’s moved back home to Bliss Valley to live with her dad and have a stable home for her two young sons. Naomi soon finds her life taking a completely different turn than she could have ever imagined through a series of events that shake Naomi to her core. In order to move forward, Naomi must decide if she can find it in her heart to forgive those who have wronged her. As God works in her life, Naomi finds that God is gently leading her to a deeper trust and faith and a future that’s brighter than she’s ever known before.
Naomi’s story is an emotional one. She showed great courage and strength, even as she struggled to forgive. I loved reading about her journey and deeply admired her commitment to her family. The only drawback in this storyline was that it got a little tiresome at times reading about Naomi’s hurt when she was a teenager. I was ready for her to mature and move on in the story earlier than she did. However, this is still a beautiful story of growing in faith, hope, and love. Jo Ann Brown is a talented Amish author and I’m already looking forward to reading her next book.
