My Review:

This book has an interesting storyline that features both romance and suspense.  Maddie’s twin sister was murdered by her husband, and it’s up Maddie to stay on the run and hide her young nephew from this dangerous man.  She takes them back to a place she feels is safe—the New Order Amish community in Humble, Wisconsin.

Maddie’s wish is that they would be able to settle there in peace and live a quiet, secure life there in the town.  But things don’t always go as Maddie has planned, and it’s going to take all her faith and trust in God to help see them through the crisis that’s coming their way.

I liked both the main characters in this book. I admired Maddie’s determination to protect her nephew.  Maddie’s growing relationship with Abram Mueller helps her to see her need to trust in God.  Abram proves himself to be a faithful friend to Maddie, and both discover that God has wonderful plans for the three of them. I enjoyed seeing their romance blossom and the suspense in the story kept me turning pages to see how Maddie’s story would turn out.  I’m very much interested in reading more from this author.

I voluntarily received a copy of this book from the publisher.  All opinions are my own.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Pamela Desmond Wright grew up in a small, dusty Texas town. Like the Amish, Pamela is a fan of the simple life. Her childhood includes memories ofnbsp; the olden days; old-fashioned oil lamps, cooking over an authentic wood-burning stove and making popcorn over a crackling fire at her grandparent’s cabin. The cabin was later donated to The Muleshoe Heritage Center in Muleshoe Texas where it can be viewed by the public.
