I had to smile at the “rivalry” between Bethany and Aaron, a battle that began back in their school days. Their bickering at the beginning of the story is amusing, and Bethany’s stubbornness made Aaron’s job at the RV park have its interesting moments. But there’s also a serious, heart-touching depth to this book. Aaron’s family was struggling both emotionally and financially because of some poor decisions made by a family member, and Aaron had struggled to keep an appearance of having a normal Amish family. As Aaron and Bethany got to know each other better, they soon realize that they made a great team, but there were obstacles that could keep them from finding their happily-ever-after together.I thought Bethany’s character was adorable, but what drew me into this book was the the situation with Aaron and his family. I felt compassion for him as he struggled to find the right answers as to help his parents. There’s some themes of faith, hope, forgiveness, and love in this book, and when I finished reading it, I felt compelled to make sure that I’m showing compassion to others in difficult situations.I voluntarily received a copy of this book from the publisher.
