Publisher’s Description:
“Jesse Plank promised to keep a secret. A secret that drove him away from his home eight years ago. But when his father is injured, Jesse must return to help provide for his family. Finding Catherine still the beauty he remembered might convince him to stay.
Becoming Amish wasn’t the same as being born Amish. Thankfully for Catherine Raber, her terrible school years are behind her and life is looking up. That was until the last person she ever wanted to see again arrived in Miller’s Creek. Worse, her father just gave him a job.
My Review:
I was immediately pulled into this story by the character of Catherine Raber—-a feisty and opinionated young Amish woman, but one who is also very loyal, loving, and the kind of person you would want to have as a best friend. The author develops a sweet and funny storyline full of some unexpected mishaps as the relationship between Jesse and Catherine grows and changes. However, there’s also a thoughtful thread that runs throughout the book of trusting God, asking for His guidance, and forgiving others.
I always love a story that makes me laugh, but at the same time, gives me something to think about, and that’s what I found in this book. I throughly enjoyed reading Jesse and Catherine’s story, and can’t wait to see what comes up next in this series.
I voluntarily received a copy of this book from the author. All my opinions are my own.
