Who has ever heard of Mystery Valley? Certainly not us, not until we visited Monument Valley with our Navajo guide. A next-door neighbor to Monument Valley, this beautiful part of the Navajo Nation is truly only accessible with a Navajo guide and we were fortunate to have one who grew up with this as his backyard. He showed us many beautiful sights including ancient dwellings, petroglyphs and even his 83 year old mother’s sheep ranch. The terrain was rough and 4-wheel drive was necessary as well as a guide that was experienced in driving the rough, rocky, sandy trails in Mystery Valley.
