My Review:

Dana Mentick knows how to write a suspenseful, entertaining story and that perfectly describes this book.  This storyline really didn’t give the reader a chance to breathe until the last couple of pages. Also, even though the background in some scenes in this book had to do with Christmas, I don’t consider this book as actually being about Christmas.  That didn’t take away from the story at all, but it wasn’t a main component of the story.

Although I liked the story, it was the characters that held my attention, especially Liam and Maggie.  Even though Tammie and Maggie were twins, I found Tammie quite irresponsible and annoying.  Maggie’s character, however, was much more interesting.  She was a combination of fierce loyalty and courage, because she acted to protect Tammie even when she was afraid.  I also admired Liam, because he had to work through the fear and worry of the potential of losing his hearing.  Their relationship got off to a rocky start, and that made their story.  There’s an adorable little boy that adds some sweetness to the book, and Jingles the dog gave the book some lighter moments, too, as well as proving himself to be a help in time of trouble.  This book has all the things about the “Love Inspired” Suspense books that we love.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher.  All opinions are my own.

MORE FROM DANA

I just love Christmas, don’t you? In our area we have a lovely holiday train. It’s an old steam type train which is decked out in lights for festive holiday tours. I was so thrilled that this cover features just such a train. Of course, in the novel the train is the scene of hair raising danger! Maggie, our heroine in this novel, is a cook. She serves up some mouth watering dishes (when she’s not dodging a killer.) I thought perhaps you might enjoy a Mentink holiday family recipe! God bless you as we enter this holiday season!

To celebrate her tour, Dana is giving away the grand prize package of a  a book necklace, Amazon gift card, and a paperback copy of the book!!
