Vannetta Chapman has written many lovely Amish stories, and I’ve enjoyed all of them. Susannah’s story, however, touched my heart in a special way.
Sometimes our past can keep us from moving forward into the plan that God has for us. This was true for Susannah, with her recovery from cancer. Since she could not have children, she sometimes felt that she was “damaged” and wondered if she should ever marry. Micah struggled with meeting the expectations of others and felt as if he could never live up to what his family expected of him. He wanted to continue to live his carefree life. When Susannah and Micah meet, they look at life from two opposite points of view. Susannah is more serious; Micah is more light-hearted. They soon realize they belong together, but they must first go through some unexpected circumstances together to truly grasp the beautiful future that God has for them.
The author has given us a story full of faith, hope, and love. I was again challenged to trust God with all aspects of my life.

Vannetta Chapman is the author of 30 published books. She has written for Abingdon Press and Harvest House Publishers, and she currently writes for Harper Collins Christian Publishing and Harlequin/Love Inspired. Her books have hit the CBD Bestseller list, the Amazon bestseller list, and her most recent release, A Widow’s Hope, debuted at #17 on Publishers Weekly mass market list.
