Review of “Unlikely Sweethearts” by Jennifer Spredemann

PUBLISHER DESCRIPTION

He’s bent on breaking the rules. She’s determined to keep them. Sparks fly when opposites attract in this fun holiday romance!

When Randy Stoltz comes home for Christmas on college break, he isn’t counting on knocking beautiful Holly Remington off her feet in the ice skating rink. Neither is he counting on falling head-over-heals for his brother Wesley’s ex-love interest. Holly’s different from any woman Randy’s ever known, and she challenges him to do hard things, namely, reconciling with his Amish grandparents.

Holly can’t help thinking about Randy Stoltz, even though he’s the type of guy she never would have considered dating in the past. But she’s undeniably drawn to his charm, and his good looks only complicate matters. She desires to live for God, and although Randy is a Christian, his priorities remain elsewhere. Can she help open his eyes to the beauty and blessings that a real relationship with God can provide?

Will Randy and Holly find joy…and love…this holiday season?

My Review:
In this book, we get to visit again with the beloved characters we first met in “Unlikely Santa”.  This story features a sweet romance between Randy and Holly, a young couple who, although they are instantly attracted to each other, find that they truly are “unlikely sweethearts”.

Randy has drifted from his faith, but Holly is a steadfast believer.  As Randy begins to renew his relationship with God, an unexpected roadblock arises that seems almost too much to overcome. He turns to his Amish grandfather, u, for help and advice, not realizing that Christopher is also facing a crisis of his own.  I loved that this story shows how God is always working in unexpected ways for our good.

Jennifer Spredemann writes sweet, touching Amish love stories, but one of the things that I appreciate the most about her books is the very clear presentation of the Gospel and salvation through Christ.  It was also interesting in this book to see how that message of salvation needs to be made clear among the Amish.

If you haven’t read “Unlikely Santa”, you can still enjoy this book on it’s own, but you will enjoy reading more in that book about the relationship between Christopher and little Jaycee and the way they met during the Christmas season.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher.  All opinions are my own.
