Additional features include the top ten outdoor survival myths, a state-by-state list of top outdoor destinations, dos and don’ts of day hiking, how U.S. mountains compare in elevation, and hidden or often overlooked locations throughout the country.

My Review:
Although this is listed as a journal or diary, it’s so much more.
There’s quite a bit of information included that can be very helpful  to a traveler:  Locations in each state to visit; “Do’s and Don’ts of Day-hiking”; “ How to read the Clouds”; “Identifying Animal Tracks”; “How to Take Great Outdoor Photos” and several other articles about enjoying the outdoors. This makes the journal a very useful source of information.

This also isn’t your typical journal.  There are pages for reflection on your thoughts about nature, and I liked the journal prompt questions that help you focus your thoughts.  There are several pages in which you can list memories and impressions of places you visit.  I’ll be traveling to several National and State parks and I’m taking this journal along with me.  It will become a record of cherished memories.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher.  All opinions are my own.
