My Review:
Connilyn Cossette writes fascinating novels in which the stories are set during Biblical times. This book clearly shows the contrast in cultures between the Philistines and the Hebrews; and it highlights the hopelessness of those worshipping idols and the hope of God’s chosen people.  The scenes in both Ashdod and Kiryat-Yearim made me feel as if I’d walked the roads in both places.  The two main characters, Lukio and Shoshana, each have quite compelling backstories and it’s easy to come to care about their characters.  There’s intrigue and suspense that weaves in and out all the storyline.  However, it’s the theme of faith and trust in God that makes this story shine brightly. I loved reading this book and was encouraged again to trust God in all situations.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher.  All opinions are my own.
