My Review:

This is without a doubt one of the most unusual storylines that I’ve read in Amish fiction.  After surviving a

serious car accident, Sarah has amnesia and cannot remember her Amish past.  Through no fault of her own, Sarah finds herself caught in a dilemma that seems to have no right answer:  Will she choose her Amish family or her English family?  How can she bring herself to choose between Jathen or Matt? There’s some heart-touching moments in this book, and I was surprised at some of the twists in the storyline.  I found myself caught up in Sarah’s problems and became very interested in how the author was going to direct Sarah’s choices.

I appreciated the way the gospel was woven into this storyline.  The author shows her care and concern that the Amish recognize the truth of salvation through Jesus and not just following their “rules”.  This spiritual emphasis plays an important part in the book.

Because I was intrigued by this unusual storyline, I would have liked for this book to have had a couple of more chapters.  That could have given some more insight into the time of Sarah’s accident; and also helped us to get to know both Jathen and Matt at a deeper level.  But this didn’t hinder my appreciation for this book and the beautiful message of redemption that runs all through it.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher.  All opinions are my own.
