My Review:
This is a sweet story that revolves around the main character of Hannah Eicher. Hannah is a lovely, single Amish woman who has learned that she will never be able to have children. Then something unexpectedly wonderful happens—she discovers that baby Grace has been left in her barn, along with a letter asking Hannah to take care of her. Hannah comes to love Grace deeply and is looking forward to officially adopting her. However, new information disrupts her plan of adoption and her dream of being a mother. Hannah learns a new depth of faith and trust in God and finds that often times He is working in her life in ways she never imagined.
I enjoyed reading Hannah’s story and thought the growing romance between Hannah and Mike was a sweet one. The author did a great job of holding my interest all throughout the story with the many obstacles that Hannah faced in adopting Grace. It was inspiring to see Hannah’s faith and trust in God grow even when she thought she was losing her heart’s greatest wish. This is entertaining fiction with some good faith lessons for us, too.
