Review of “Ladybug Landing” by Mindy Steele

PUBLISHER DESCRIPTION

Nelly Raber placed an ad in The Budget, hoping to help the widows and fatherless children of Miller’s Creek. That was two years ago, and she has yet to live down the impulsive act that has become a yoke around her neck.

Lee Milford has worked hard for the future he has planned, but suddenly everything has gone wrong. Turning to a friend who seems to be having more trouble to him, Levi soon realizes why it’s always best to put our futures in God’s hands.

As summer looms to an end, one heart will be put to the test, while another might find her best match yet.

My Review:

It’s always a pleasure to read a well-written story that includes wonderful characters that come to life as you are reading the story.  Add to that a delightful community like Miller’s Creek and you have a great description of this book.  Mindy Steele never disappoints with her books and I think this is one of my favorites in this series.

I loved the main character, Nelly Raber.  Nelly is the kind of character that immediately goes straight to your heart.  She truly wants to help others; to be a good friend; to be of help to her Amish community.  But sometimes Nelly’s best intentions are misunderstood, and those situations lead to a very interesting, sometimes humorous, heart-touching story.  There’s some matchmaking that goes on in this book, and there, too, sometimes things do not quite go as expected, especially between Nelly and Levi.

There are inspiring themes of faith and trust in God that run throughout the whole book that lift this story to more than just a beautiful story.

Although this book is part of a series, you can enjoy this one on its own.  But once you read it, I believe you’ll want to read all the “Miller’s Creek” books and get to know the rest of the characters who live there.

I voluntarily received a copy of this book from the publisher.  All opinions are my own.

Because both sides of the fence has a story to tell.
